A low quote is not a low cost if extra charges appear after delivery. These are the most common surprises on the Vietnam–Cambodia route.
The usual suspects
| Charge | Why it happens | How to avoid it |
|---|---|---|
| Waiting time at pickup | Cargo not ready when the truck arrives | Confirm readiness the day before |
| Overnight at the border | Truck arrives late or documents are incomplete | Send documents early; plan departure times |
| Inspection fees | Goods selected for physical inspection | Accurate descriptions and weights reduce risk |
| Re-weighing or re-packing | Weights or package counts do not match | Weigh and count before loading |
| Storage | Missing permits or payment delays in Cambodia | Confirm permits and tax payment arrangements in advance |
| Failed delivery / return trip | Consignee not available or wrong address | Confirm delivery contact and opening hours |
